The HGT Match-Play Championship
All players who were Registered in 2007 and 2008 are automatically entered into the prestigious HGT Match-Play Championship. This classic elimination tournament kicks off in May with golfers playing at mutually agreed locations and days. This tournament is free to qualified players and involves paying only the greens fee at the club the match is held. Each round should be played by the date specified, but may be completed within two weeks of that date. Full strokes are given using each player’s current HGT handicap on the day of play (see website), with matches going into sudden-death (extra holes, another round or putting green contest) if there is a tie after 18 holes. This solid glass trophy at right will be retained by the winner until the October
